Before the final race of both drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verspatten are tied on points. It is such a rare instance that this is happening only for the second time in the history of Formula One racing. The last time these two legendary Formula One racers met one another at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix held in Jeddah Hamilton finished first while also claiming the extra point for the fastest lap in the race. This has helped the Mercedes driver, Hamilton to touch the tally of Red Bull driver, Max. He managed to get all the 8 points required to get to the joint first position. Now both of them are tied on 369.5 points with one race to go which will be held this weekend in Abu Dhabi, UAE. There is a lot at stake for Hamilton as he can become the first ever 8 time Formula One World Champion. So, what can he do to achieve this extraordinary feat? It’s simple he needs to win in Abu Dhabi to claim the crown for a record-breaking 8th time bypassing Michael Schumacher’s 7 world Championships. Hamilton needs to finish ahead of Max in terms of points. But he can also lose the championship even after winning the race at Yas Marina circuit. If Max manages to get the bonus point given to the driver who gets the fastest lap then irrespective of Hamilton winning the race Max will clinch the title this year. So either we will see a man creating history this weekend or we will witness heartbreak and the wait will continue.
